Visitors

We recognize the importance of a caring environment that includes family and friends.  Your loved ones will be accommodated as much as possible, with consideration for other patients and overall patient care.  Members of the health care team will use their best judgment in providing a supportive environment without compromising patients’ rest, medical treatments or procedures.

We are also committed to open and honest communication with identified family members and we encourage their participation in your care.

Your caregiver may ask that a “family spokesperson” or “contact person” be made available, in circumstances of large family/visitors requiring patient information.

Family members may remain with patients except during tests or treatments.

Adult patients/guardians have the right to restrict their visitors.  Requests need to be communicated to your caregiver or given on admission.  Every effort will be made to honor such requests.

Our suggested visiting hours are 8:00 am to 8:00 pm.  For the safety of patients, caregivers and staff, the only entrance available after 8:00 pm is through the Emergency Department escorted by our security personnel.

Sunnyside Community Hospital has access to interpreting and translation services in 148 languages.  We have in house and phone interpreting services available through specific departments.  Please contact your nurse or caregiver for these services.
