Your surgeon or physician will schedule your appointment with the Ambulartory Surgery Department. When this appointment is scheduled, it will include any Laboratory or X-Ray studies requested by your physician, pre-anesthesia information, nursing evaluations, pre-surgical instructions and teaching, and pre-registration with the Admitting Department.
Please check in at the Admitting Department in the front lobby of the hospital at the time of your Pre-admission appointment. This may be several days before your surgery is scheduled. It is important to bring along a list of any medications you are currently taking. Write down the name of each medication, supplement, nonprescription drug, herbal medicines, and the amount you are taking.
At the time of registration, you will need to provide insurance information. The hospital will directly bill Medicare, Medicaid, Champus, Blue Cross and many other insurance carriers if correct and complete information is provided.
Your surgery charge includes all fees, except those of your surgeon; anesthesia, pathology, radiologist, or other independent providers. They will bill you separately. You will also receive a flyer explaining other possible separate bills at the time you register.
Please arrive at the hospital two hours before your scheduled surgery time, unless instructed to come earlier. You will need to check in at the Main Entrance Registration Desk.
In preparation for surgery, please remember the following important information to complete your surgery in a safe and most effective manner:
