Educational Resources at Sunnyside Community Hospital
The hospital provides in-service education to nursing students, new nurse hires, and works to
train NAC students and other nursing personnel. If you are a student nurse looking for an

Advance Cardiac Life Support ACLS Dates: Initial class: 1/20; 3/17; 7/18 0800-1800 Renewal: 2/17; 5/9; 9/12 AM- 0800-1230 PM- 1300-1800 Trauma Nursing Core Course TNCC Dates: 1/16-17, 3/28-29, 5/ 23-24, 9/26-27 all classes are 0800 to 1700 Purpose: The Trauma Core Course presents core-level knowledge and psychomotor skills associated with implementing the trauma nursing process. This course enhances the nurse’s ability to assess, rapidly and accurately, the patient responses to the process. The skill stations facilitate integration of psychomotor abilities in a setting that simulates trauma patient situations. Topic include biomechanics and mechanism of injury, initial assessment, shock, thoracic, abdominal, spinal cord, burn, geriatric and pediatric trauma, and psychosocial aspects of trauma. The skills stations cover the trauma nursing process, airway and ventilation interventions, spinal immobilization, traction application and chest trauma.
