The first foundation golf tournament was a benefit for a hospital employee who was critically ill with cancer. The money raised offset a portion of the tremendous financial burden on his family.

Another tournament helped replentish the Soroptimist Mammogram Fund at the hospital.

A campaign called Building for the Future was the start of the modern hospital foundationfund raising.

More than $2 million dollars was pledged over a five year period. That money allowed the hospital to successfully complete the remodeling of the Medical Surgical Department to all private patient rooms. Updates and remodeling were also completed in the Intensive Care Unit and the Family Birth Center received a facelift and modernization.

Foundation funds though the golf tournament and the new "Evening in the Park" event also paid for a remodeling and expansion of the hospital pharmacy.

A more recent success for the Foundation was the capital campaign to reorganize and update the Emergency Department.These capital projects combine funds from a variety of revenue steams, but the critical dollars that come from community support via the Foundation are the difference between success and failure.
