Be sure and check your paycheck envelope this week for a Thanksgiving luncheon coupon from Food Services. The Special Employee, Volunteer, & Medical Staff Thanksgiving Lunch will be next Wednesday, November 12th from 11:30 until 1:30 in the Café. Please join with me in thanking Jean Clary and her staff for the hard work they do on special events such as this one.
As the Holidays approach I would like to also encourage you to support your hospital auxiliary by attending the annual Festival of Trees Celebration. This year the special decorated Christmas trees will be unveiled Friday, November 21st in the Mini-Mall. The Auxiliary poinsettia sale is also coming up. So, if you want to decorate for Thanksgiving and Christmastime you can do so with the help of the Auxiliary.
The number of employees who have benefited from Auxiliary sponsored healthcare scholarships grows every year. You can ask any of those individuals about how important the Auxiliary has been in their continued professional development. It makes it very clear that helping the Auxiliary helps all of us connected in any way with the hospital. Contact Charlene Maleng.
My special thanks to all those responsible for the Halloween festivities around the facility last week. The potluck meal was a nice treat. I was very impressed with the creativity of all those bringing pumpkins as well. These special events are a lot of fun for everyone - and I am grateful to those who take the extra effort to make them happen.
Many departments are also preparing to have special efforts to raise food, clothing and Christmas gifts for special needs families this year. I hope you and your department will be among those sharing this timely and important kind of gift back to our community.
